Bag Of Holding In RPGs

If you had a bag of holding what would your character mainly use it to hold? If you had more than one would you alternate it's capacity?

Bags of holding are best for one thing only-loot! Gems, coins magic items all weigh a lot in bulk and the Bags are perfect for making that haul easy to take back to town. No sharp objects, though!

I wouldn't say they're good for one thing only.

Oh, sure, loot takes the top of the list, but there are other uses.

For instance, a necromancer of mine was able to smuggle nearly a hundred skeletons into a city using bags of holding.

That depends on the edition. 3.5e specified that if the bag was ever punctured, from inside or outside, it is ruined, with all contents being lost forever. Other editions have a different take on the matter.

Even 5e says it can be punctured although it doesn’t specify inside and outside. RAW subject to Dungeon Master interpretation. Either way, it’s still a excellent convience item and very useful.

Bag Holding RPGs

I like bags of holding as you can put all sorts of items in it. I have a vampire that has a large bag of holding allowing him to take his coffin with him as he roams around. It is just one of the interesting ways to use it.

It is really useful in 5e. Strength is considered a dump stat for so many characters now that bags of holding are necessary to not be slowed down by their basic equipment plus any loot they might find.
