That isn't going to happen so that group can forget the "New California" and try to work towards a "Better California" instead. .

Yeah, I don't think so. If that was going to work, Quebec would have been a separate country from Canada, decades ago. Just because you think you can make your own country doesn't mean you will be able to, when you are talking about carving it from within an existing country.

I laughed when I read that they plan on modeling the split after the formation of West Virginia. That means they will have to wait for the next civil war and then join whatever side that old California does not.

If they make California two states they should split it in half and have a north California and a south California as that would make much more sense.

Wow we would have three states instead of two states. Maybe that will help many Californians have a say in things as they do not get much of a chance with the bigger cities telling all Californians what the state is going to do. I guess we see what happens in November if the US becomes 52 states instead of 50.
