I think it has to do with two things. First, I think he is upset that people are saying his presidency is illegitimate. Second, I think he has a pretty big ego.

One thing to consider is the weather that day, it was very cold and rained. Many that might have wanted to come didn't because of that and so much traffic. The intimidation of protests wasn't welcoming either.
