Japan finds rich rare earth deposits on seabed

Japanese researchers said Thursday they have found a rich deposit of rare earths on the Pacific seabed, with reports suggesting it could be up to 30 times more concentrated than Chinese reserves.

News like that isn't going to make China any happier especially when a local Japanese paper makes the comparison. Anyway, they say it is 30 times richer than the Chinese mines which most of the rare minerals of the earth come from - could be a turn around discovery for Japan to regain economic strength?
