2018 Football World Cup Forum Contest

We haven't had a contest in a long while so here is one that can land you lots of FP.

Here is how it works:

1. For each scheduled game (See: 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ - Matches - FIFA.com) I will start a Thread in the International Sports Board.

2. Before the game starts you must make a prediction of how the game will turn out using the following format:

End game score (Both countries):
Winning goal(s) by:

---

For example, Russia is playing Saudi Arabia at 11am Atlantic time on the 14th June, 2018. So before 11am of that date you will need to state your prediction using the above format:

End game score: Russia 4 - Saudi Arabia 2
Winning goal(s) by: Fyodor Smolov and Artem Dzyuba for Russia and Mohammad Al-Sahlawi for Saudi Arabia

If you Post your prediction after the match has started then you will not win the contest but you can still give your prediction - nothing wrong with that. You can also comment before, during and after the match in the same Thread.

Winners

If you correctly predict the end game score for both countries you win: 200 FP

If you correctly predict all the players that will score goals then you get another 200 FP.

This means you have the chance to win 400 FP for each match. There are 64 matches carded so you could possibly win up to 25,600 FP!

Here are some helpful ways to find out who are the players and when the games will start:

Using Google you can find out who is on the team using something like this: Saudi Arabia team lineup. Do note, the coaches can change around players before the match actually starts so you will need to watch your screen for the correct lineup.

You can of course do your own research about the players using official sites and news reports.

What if one just wants to predict who will win can we get something for that?

It cannot just be who will win as that will be very easy. Imagine predicting the outcome of let's say a Germany vs Iran match… everyone will win on that prediction. It has to be the score they win by and the goals the opposing team made. In other words, the final match scores.

I am only going for the 200 FP by trying to predict the scores of the games. While I have not been watching Football as much as before due to other things going on I will see just how well I can do this.

Contest Update: Based on the results of this match: Spain vs Russia we need to update this contest since matches can go into penalties.

If you decide a game will go to a draw the final score does NOT have to be how many penalties they make but you do need to state who will win AND the draw score.

For instance:

X country 2 - Y country 2 with X country winning on penalties.
