Reports: Shots fired at Fort Lauderdale airport

Early word on the incident came from a tweet by Ari Fleischer, former White House spokesman for President George W. Bush. "I'm at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport," Fleischer tweeted. "Shots have been fired. Everyone is running." Ref. USAToday.

The local sheriff's office is saying that there are also multiple deaths as well and not just nine wounded as initially reported. Terrorism? There will be in depth investigations about how a gunman could cause this much damage in what should be one of the most secure places in the USA.

This is photo of the shooter: Esteban Santiago and they're saying he had mental issues but that's not all, he didn't live far from a local mosque and I've seen a couple of photos of him with that look of a follower.

He had mental issues and was allowed to take a gun in his bag. That's a giant red flag. Guns should not be allowed on planes unless you're part of law enforcement.

People are not listening to this. He checked his guns as per requirements to be stored under the plane with other checked luggage. This is perfectly legal. He retrieved said guns in their locked cases when he arrived at Ft Lauderdale as per regulations. He then took the bags into the restroom got the guns out loaded them and then came out firing. He did not have the guns on the plane with him

Now you have to look at the individual. When he walked into the FBI office and stated the voices in his head were telling him to listen to ISIL that should have been a flag to do more than suggesting him to seek mental health assessment. Granted he went in on his own accord but they should have followed up.
As he was a soldier who may or may not have had some PTSD then you need to just look at the short falls in the current VA system that is geared to give their directors big bonuses while ignoring the suffering Veterans to the point that many are falling through the cracks and we have cases like this where they may or may not cause harm to themselves, others or both.
We have a issue here that over the next few days will have the spot light looking for the root cause. I bet most of the blame can be placed on the VA system I think.
