This summer, Lance Armstrong will be competing for his record 6th consecutive Tour de France title, a feat no other cyclist has ever done. Currently he is ranked at the top of the cycling world with such greats as Indurain and Merxx, but this next tour victory will catapult him into an entire league of his own. Some may argue that Lance never won one of the other great tours, and has focused on Paris alone, unlike Merxx, for example, who was proficient in multiple European tours. Do you think Lance is the greatest cyclist ever? Do you rank him as one of the greatest athletes ever?
He is a true hero to the sport and those that give up because they think their disease or handicap stops them from being a winner. He also has his own web site and official fan club: https://www.lancearmstrong.com
I hope he takes the Tour for all its worth, because even if he does not come first he has already won
Do you think his recent separation from his wife and new relationship with certain Hollywood celebrities will distract him from his goal? He was recently rumored to be dating Sheryl Crow.

A final wrap up of this topic. Today Lance Armstrong did what no other cyclist has done and won his 6th consecutive Tour de France. He finished 6min 19 seconds of his closest competitor, the German Kloden from the T-Mobile group. The Italian Ivan Basso finished 3rd. Here are the results of the other competitions within the race:
Points competition - Green Jersey - Robbie McEwen
King of the Mountains - Polka Dot Jersey - Richard Virenque
Best Young Rider - White Jersey - Karpenter
Team competition - T-Mobile
The winner of the famed ride into Paris was Boonen. Congrats to Lance who 8 years ago was fighting for his life. He will go down as the best rider in the Tour de France history.
