Why do mortgages suck? Because they hold you hostage until you get them paid off. You end up paying tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, in interest by the time you get the mortgage paid off. You have to work longer until retirement just so you can get the mortgage paid off. You are not truly free until you are mortgage free.
