I always prefer to work with someone younger than older. Younger people find more dynamic ways to do a job while the old folks are so set in their ways that they think working smart isn't working hard.

I think you need both young and old workers. Definitely, the young ones are more familiar with emerging technologies and find new ways of doing things. However, you need the old ones around to temper and mentor them, and to make sure the work is done safely.
