Social Rejection

Social rejection is painful and can lead to violence. People who have greater levels of mindfulness -- or the tendency to maintain attention on and awareness of the present moment -- are better able to cope with the pain of being rejected by others, according to a new study. Source 2t.

Rejection Social

I personally know exactly what it's like to be socially rejected because of my blindness. Believe me, I've had it happen before. I'll admit that sometimes it did bother me in the past when I was younger and going to school, but I've since toughened up and have learned how to try to help people understand that blindness isn't something to be feared and avoided but embraced and to be treated as an equal. I've also been on the receiving end of my share of bullying by my peers and that has lots to do with social rejection. Those same bullies spread their vulgarity around and people take it for facts and that can make the problem worse. I'll just say it right now. I absolutely hate a bully and I think that all bullies are cowards honestly and if I were the principal of a school, I would make darn sure that absolutely everyone knew exactly where I stood on the topic of bullying. I would have a 0 tolerance policy when it came to bullying for any reason what so ever.
