I agree that the whole Idea of giving treats to bribe the students for a good job is misplaced and the practice should stop. I know I would not want my kids to come home bragging about how they got this candy bar from their teacher. There are much better ways of rewarding that a teacher can use without giving them fatty foods.

I love the chocolate rewards although in my case most times they were other treats but it left something to look forward to after I did well on a paper or test.

Well, I for one know just how much of a problem that having too many treats can be since I've got the waistline to prove it *laugh*. However, I do think that for small children the chocolate reward works well especially if they do particularly well on a subject that might be a hard struggle for them to master. Mine was always math. I absolutely hate math to this day. So I can actually see both sides of the coin as good and bad. The chocolate reward is indeed a good thing if it's used in moderation. I especially don't like how the government is trying to butt into our lives and tell us how much sugar we should be eating, it's none of their business. We're a free country and can do what we want. So if we choose to eat sugar, that's on us and shouldn't be up to the government. Just my opinion of course and you can take it for what it's worth and even feel very free to disagree with me if you wish.
