Blind Because Of Lack Of Care

Apologies ordered after patient left blind

A former Southland Hospital ophthalmologist and the Southland District Health Board have been directed to apologise to an Invercargill man who was left legally blind after a lack of follow-up care.

Care Lack Of Blind

I hope something like this does not happen to me. I think the hospital cancelling the next appointment was not a good thing as it lead to him being legally blind. I am happy that he did get some compensation for his eye sight.
