Ahab the Wanderer

I was born by the name Ahab 16 years ago to a human mother and a draconian father who I have little but stories of. I stand at a moderate height of 5 feet and 11 inches with a pale orange, leather like skin. I have inherited the same eye color my mother had, dark brown, but also the reptilian shape from my father. My hair is a thick brown mass that reaches my neck's base. Though it was not always easy being so different from the other people of my village, the tales of my father and his heroics had caused many to treat me with a distant empathy of sorts. After all, everyone in the village knew what it was like to lose their loved ones to the ever raging battlefields.

I was talented at many things in my youth but I often found it hard to focus on much of anything practical. Instead of reading books or hewing trees, I was often found at the creaky inn's bar listening to the enchanting tales of the weary travelers and returning veterans. Once I began hearing the many amazing stories of the world beyond my home I began to dream of the many amazing journeys I would one day undertake myself. I learned how to deal with every manner of folk, whether human or not, from my near constant seat at the bar.

The name Ahab was given to me by my father in hopes of me one day becoming a powerful king who could crush the many wars this land has been suffering under. Far from a simple task no doubt but one that I have had nothing but time to ponder over. War begins when people, or even just one person, have a great need for something or another. Power, greed, hunger, boredom, faith, revenge, love, and so much more comes to mind when thinking of reasons. People come in all shapes, sizes, temperaments, and manners so finding a way to meet the needs of all these people at once seems impossible. I hope to use my many travels to learn the varied reasons behind all the bloody conflicts and solve them one by one if need be and to make the impossible possible. Any person can amass an army and call himself a king but to truly be king the people must see you as such and to achieve this I shall meet the needs of all who live in these lands. Ambitious I know but I see no other way to achieve my goals of peace.

Wanderer Ahab

A Sentimental Value

Before I left my home for the last time I looked above the mantle of the fireplace to the branded shield mounted to the wall. A keepsake from my my father's ancestry that was left to me for when I would begin my journey. My mother told me of the many adventures my father and his father and so on so forth had with the steel plated shield. I had little plans to ever draw arms on another but I understood that others may not share my feelings on the matter. With this thought in mind I unmounted the shield from the wall and admired the branding of a ancient oak tree on the the front of the shield. My mother had taken great care of the shield in her time with it and I shall do much of the same.

Ahab the Wanderer Post Play & MMORPG RPG Text

Advisor Description

John, a man I had meet only a few weeks prior at the bar, stumbled before me wearing a light brown shirt and olive green pants that had clearly seen better days. The booze on his breath was rank but I needed my answers as to what he has been doing in the shadows. John, in his stupor, rambled about many things and it was hard to truly ascertain his intentions though the smile on his face and his willingness to talk put most of my suspicions at ease. Finally, after many minutes of drunken garble, John exclaimed his wish to see the world as well. He had grown to tire of the Town some time ago but had feared to venture into the world on his own though after hearing of my intentions to see the world he felt as if his chance may have finally arrived. John claimed that he simply didn't know how to approach the subject in a reasonable matter, so he had been watching to see when a good opportunity would arrive for him to show his worth.

John has lived in the Town his whole life and claims to know it like the back of his hand. A guide of sorts would be very useful in this town but what would be his use when it comes time to leave? I looked at John, his green eyes half closed from exhaustion, with a serious gaze but before anything could be done John stuck his hand out clumsily. After a few seconds of mulling it over I decided that regardless of his true talents a friend would be worth the trouble and I grasped his hand and shook it. Even a king needs a friend after all and with my fate in mind I'll certainly need one.
