Samael the Wanderer

My name is Sameal. The only child of Mary and Martin adventures who learned that only the strong make the rules. They were betrayed by a lord who decided their reward for completing his quest should be death rather than the promised gold. They were forced to flee and seek obscurity.

Martin did not survive his wounds and Mary, pregnant, was left to raise me, all the while fighting back a curse that plagued her body.
I was raised to follow in the footsteps of my parents.

My father was a blade. No not someone who used a blade but rather, one who was one with the blade. I was taught to be be strong of arm and fleet of foot.

My mother was a mage. She specializing in elemental magic, she taught me to connect with all six elements.

My training began before my first memory. Dawn found me exercising my body and arm, the noon sun found me expanding my knowledge and the stars would find me meditating. There were no breaks, no rest, there could only be the establishment of strength. Only through strength could I survive in this world, it became a mantra and has become the core of my being.

I have grown to be my fathers son. I am 63 tall and weigh 215#, my grey eyes reflect the pain my mother experienced each day of her life with me and they burn with a need for vengeance.

I learned a trade, smithing that can be combined with the gifts of my mother, elemental enchanting. This trade will allow me to wander and seek the lord who betrayed my family. As I grow I will amass my strength and take a position where I will be assured of my safety, I will rule I will not live under the threat of anothers strength. I must become the strongest. Show me goodwill and stand by my side and I will reward your kindness five times over, act against me and I will remove your miserable soul from this world.

I noticed Artimus as soon as I headed into town. Lets just say that his girth makes it highly unlikely that he could successfully engage in stealth. Dressed in classical clerical robes, his wide smile and bright eyes reflected his heart. I confronted him and learned that he was an acquaintance of my mother and that he had promised her that he would keep an eye on me.

Our philosophies differ, he sees the good in everyone and believes that strength lies in trust and friendship. I believe that strength comes through power in oneself to control others and events. Even though he understands my belief that doesn't stop the sermons, as if the continuing drone of his voice will someday force me to concede.

Reflections on your mother

Reflections on my mother.
She was strong yet fragile, not fragile in mind but in body as the curse ate away at her. She was driven to impart upon me the drive to become strong and the knowledge that only through strength could I define my own fate. Her regret was that she failed to learn this lesson before it killed my father and damaged her body.

Reflections on your father

Reflections on my father.

What can I say he died before my birth. My perceptions are perceptions that I gleemed from my mother and her discussions with me. He was a sword a blade someone who became one with the sword. He was also naive to trust in others, look where it got him and our family. He died because he wasn't strong enough.
