As US Secretary of State, as First Lady, as President of the USA - BILL CLINTON Vice President, is it possible? Some people seem to love her tremedously while others hate her to scorn, how do you feel about Hillary Clinton?

Hillary Clinton As President

Is this even possible? If Hillary were to die then that would make Bill President again. Let us say it can't happen then you would have Bill as the First Gentleman!?

international QUOTE
WASHINGTON - The prospective presidential candidacy of Hillary Rodham Clinton has given rise to plenty of speculation about the notion of Bill Clinton as the nation's first gentleman. But what about another role? How about, say, vice president?

No, Bill Clinton CANNOT be president again, even if he holds one of the offices that would put him into line for the office of President. He can hold the office of Vice President, but he wouldn't be in the line of succession.

A similar thing happened in his presidency. Madeleine Albright was Secretary of State, but as a foreign born citizen, she was ineligible to become President.

So Hillary can elect to have her husband run as the Vice President? Isn't being Vice President still giving you a lot of access, especially when you will be in the same bedroom with the President? Actually, I cannot imagine the security risk that is, because usually the President and Vice are kept in separate places in emergencies.

As far as I know, she can choose whoever she wants to run as Vice President. The President and VP are kept apart to protect the line of succession. So, if he wouldn't be in that line of succession, the security concerns wouldn't be as much of a problem.

Yes, he would have access to secrets. But she had access to secrets as First Lady.

The problem is, that he would not have any accountability, and he has already proven that he is irresponsible.

I think it would be a bad thing, no matter how it works out. But then I think that Hillary Clinton would be a worse thing for the US than Bill Clinton was. Having him as either VP or First Gentleman would be no worse than having her as President.

I read elsewhere that the Vice President and President cannot come from the same state? However, would people want this kind of running team, I mean will it hurt Hillary or give her a better chance at winning?

I don't ever remember hearing about the same state thing. I think that would be more a matter of politics, as the idea of the running mate is to capture another state. That is why Al Gore chose Joe Lieberman as a running mate, expecting to carry Connecticut easily. He did, but lost his own state! biggrin.gif

I can't see any legal reason why they couldn't both be from the same state. But then, it wouldn't matter with the Clintons anyway. He is from Arkansas, she is from New York (actually she is from Illinois, but knew she couldn't win there). Besides, I can't imagine that anyone would really care.

I don't think it would help her. Most of the people who would support Bill Clinton now are already die-hard Democrats, so would vote for Hillary Clinton anyway. Most of them still think she is the "smartest woman on Earth."

I don't think it would hurt her either, for the same reason. Most of the people who are against Bill Clinton detest Hillary anyway (including me). We would rather vote for Saddam Hussein or Osama bin Laden than Hillary. They are far less dangerous to the United States.

In my OH SO humble opinion.

That is a pretty strong statement to make, what could she possibly do that would make her worst than people who explicitly hate US Americans in general?

She hates traditional America. She hates conservative America. She would, and does, support severe restrictions on freedom of speech. She is extremely socialist. While Osama bin Laden would destroy people and things in the US, she would destroy institutions, weaken states rights, work hard to take away certain liberties and freedoms, and do her best to destroy the middle class.

She supports the "fairness" doctrine, wherein any radio station or television station would be required to give just as much airtime to "liberal" or "progressive" views as to conservative views. However, news shows, documentaries, etc. don't count as giving political views, and almost all of those things on the TV are extremely liberal. So, the conservative voices would be shut out of about 95% of the marketplace of ideas.

She actively supports much higher taxation of income. Since the "elites" in the US are mostly "old" money, or are already extremely wealthy in other ways, they don't get much in the way of income taxation. However, a large percentage of those who are wealthy and conservative are earning their money, so get hit hard with the income taxes, as do all the middle class.

She supports massive government, including expanded regulatory powers for agencies. Agencies which are already driving small businesses into oblivion.

She supports expanded taxation of any industries that show a "windfall", such as the oil industries. Since they were making such profits from the high crude oil prices, she supported an extra tax against that specific industry, in order to make sure that everything is "fair".

I could go on and on. Gun rights, abortion rights, gay marriage, restriction of expression of religion, etc. She is a Liberal's liberal. If she got into power along with a new Democratic legislature, you would see massive changes right away in American culture and legal philosophy.

Again, in my opinion.
