I saw the testimony of Dr. Ford and what Judge Kavanaugh has said and is saying now. Dr. Ford's testimony is quite compelling and initially Judge Kavanaugh also sound convincing until he became angry and a bit sarcastic by trying to turn questions around on to the senators that asked him. I am interested to know what you all think. Is he lying? Is Ford lying or just wrong about who attacked her?

Ford said she was 100% he was the rapist and at the end of his testimony he said he was 100% certain that she was wrong. Who can you believe? One thing is certain the burden of proof is on the accuser and she does not have much evidence at all, just her word.

Her story doesn't fit the usual profile for false rape accusations, nor does Ford fit the usual profile for people who make such false claims. (For instance, I'm almost sure that Julie Swetnik has made a false claim. Unlike the other two her tale smacks of fame digging.)
She supported her tale well enough that I think it is probable. At the same time, enough holes have been poked in Kavanaugh's side of the story to keep it from being rock solid. Ironically, he did most of the poking.
Of course, none of that is proof.
I don't know, Ford's tale certainly has not been anywhere near proven enough to win in a court of law. But it certainly is strong enough to warrant further investigation, and definitely a delay in the man's confirmation hearings. Edited: daishain on 28th Sep, 2018 - 12:08am
Trump calls Christine Blasey Ford's testimony 'compelling,' leaves door open for FBI investigation of Kavanaugh. President Donald Trump told reporters he wants Republican Senate leaders to do "Whatever they think is necessary" to get to a decision on Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court. Trump also said he found Christine Blasey Ford's testimony - in which she accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault - "Compelling," even as he stood by his nominee. Trump, whose approval would be needed for any FBI investigation of Kavanaugh, said he would leave the decision to senators to make. Ref. USAToday.
Good that Trump could say something 'good' about it other than let Kavanaugh be my supreme court judge. I have been following this case and it is highly controversial. It was nice to see them give a chance to the FBI to investigate these new claims however I do not know if a week is enough time to dig into someone's past of 40 years ago.

My personal feeling is Kavanaugh loved beer so much that he got drunk and does not recall the inncident but it most likely happened. There is enough suspicion surrounding his name now that even if he got where he wants to be he will have an asterix by his name as one of the senators said.
