The article mentioned real-world applications but did not expound on the cost which I expect would be exorbitant. Aside from being overkill, it is commercially not viable as it effectively offers consumers the only hard drive they will ever need, thus reducing the need for repeat purchases. Until it breaks and the customer needs a replacement, anyway.
