Understanding the hidden message in The Town

The only message I have ever gathered from the town is that money talks. Once you have gold or in some cases pretty pebbles then you can reach far. If you don't have either then you will be stuck in the circumstances of the day.

I have met many strange people in the town and while many may point to Lady Fluke as the strangest of all I find that there is one stranger… The Archiver of the town's library who harbors strange creatures that can cause anybman or woman to meet an early death.
