Do you think any Dungeon Master could pull off a game by having it take place in just one room? It will probably have to be a large room with lots of items in it but I think it can be possible. Thoughts?
I can see a short adventure scenario happening in one room.
First impulse, the players wake up chained within with no idea how they've got there. Getting out of their bonds requires getting to know each other and working together. Getting out of the room requires some rather clever teamwork. The scenario would keep giving reasons for the players to mistrust each other.
I might even tell the others from the start that someone in the room is a traitor to the others. The traitor's job of course is to survive in spite of suspicions.
You will likely need some willing participants that put their thinking caps on otherwise it can be boring for them. When they try one or two things they might say, "So there is nothing kill?" or "Where's the exit?" I generally dislike parties like that but it can enlarge the torture if the whole game is set to one room.
