Women should never have to feel like they cannot be themselves because of the religious beliefs of others. Its this kind of radicalism that will keep fashion out of the middle east for a very long time.
I have seen first hand how women are treated in the middle east. They are bought and sold and no where close to being free so that they can enjoy the western or civilized stuff many women here take for granted. This is the idea that radicals want the western/civilized world to revert to. A prime example of this is Iran. Back in the 70's the women there were wearing all of the latest fashions. Nowadays they can not go outside without being fully covered and escorted by a male if memory serves me correctly. I can see this becoming the norm in most of the middle east soon and right now there is not anything western civilization can do about it.
