I guess that happens because the director never focuses on just how evil the evil guy is by showing their villainous acts. Its always about the super hero fighting to get to the villain.

Well there is the Hulk and Batman, both of which do not go easy on the violence.

Hulk and Batman are definitely up there with the violence but I think all the good ones are more silly wreckers than killers. They don't mind throwing their opponent at a building that may have people in it that can die.
