The Sentinel had accepted visitors before but I think the young missionary was perhaps too zealous and thought he could break through the barrier fast. Look at this story.

Tribe Sentinelese
There is a reason this tribe does not like visitors and has to do with their history. They used to welcome people until a British naval commander landed during the early last part of the century and basically abused them. It went as far as kidnapping and killing. This stayed with the people and they passed down what happened til this day so can you blame them for not wanting a repeat?
