Large restaurant portions a global problem, study finds. A multi-country study finds that large portion sizes in fast food and full service restaurants is not a problem unique to the US. The researchers found that 94 percent of full service meals and 72 percent of fast food meals studied in five countries contained 600 calories or more. Source 5a.
Portions in pictures and what you get is way more than you need and its often junk- nothing worthwhile to make you feel good about your diet or your health.
The amount wouldn't be an issue if they were giving you healthy foods. A huge bowl of salad or fruit is no problem for me but restaurants want to pile you up with garbage so you get more junk hoping that you pay their 'extra value' price tag. .
