Oil And Trouble (story Line)

A college initiation prank went sour today, and a young man is in the hospital as a result. He was pulled out of a wrecked van that he had stolen, and is suffering from shock and multiple lacerations. He lost control of the van when he noticed the other passenger: A full grown male lion. The lion belongs to the van owner, who occasionally rents him out for commercials. The young joy-rider is quoted as saying "I'll never do anything like this again without checking the van first!"


Designer Genes, the recombinant DNA laboratory, was broken into last night. There was considerable damage, though there is little missing. Fundamentalist religious slogans were spray painted on the walls and doors inside. Police are treating this as a hate crime.

Also in the news tonight, the hijacking at sea of the Shill Oil super-tanker Starfish continues. The ship was seized a few hours ago by an un-named group of terrorists, who are threatening to blow it up and spill millions of gallons of crude oil onto the coastline. Shill representatives have been in contact with the terrorists, who are asking for $10 million, a reformation of U.S. Foreign policy in the Middle East, and an end to the use of animals in laboratory experiments. The deadline for these demands is noon tomorrow. A scheduled meeting of the OPEC nations has been postponed for 10 days, due to the military tensions in the area, and fear of terrorism.

1) Create character then report to Oil and Trouble (camp) Introduce your character there.

2) Once enough heroes heroines assembled chose where you are starting (DNA LAb or Oil refinery read scenario carefully then chose.)

Upon entering the scene the destruction is very evident broken glass lies strewn about, though the workers are busy trying to make thing right. One worker seems to be replacing the main door that was obviously bashed in by brute force.

Random slogans are wrote on the walls. Animals have right! Stop the torture free the rabbits! You are not God stop! Stop inventing abominations.

Strangely enough none of the animals were freed and the equipment remains undamaged.

You see no one of importance about just the workers. You do how ever here some very heated discussion coming behind a door in the far corner.

None of the workers look overly impressed with your sudden appearance nor do the step forward to speak to you.

Line story Trouble Oil

The office door suddenly opens and all is quiet other then a heavy set man who is very red faced and obviously flustered screaming for some one named John.

Seeing the group he does not hesitate but almost runs to you location. He very quickly blurts out for you all to wait in the office and heads out the door in great haste.

Returning he heads in the office and shuts the door.

" I must apologize but we have a small issue here as you can see. Now not that I need any distractions but how may I help you?"

Seeing that you are here to aid he is about to say soemthing when a very urgent rap come to the door. You host again gets up and leaves to see the person at the door, when he returns he slumps into his chair and pulls out a bottle from a drawer some where. Setting glasses on the table he pours himself on and slugs it back and offers the rest a drink as well.

"Since I bout the round can you please state you business." He seems to be trying to place Spheres face. "Quickly please I have urgent business."

Line story Trouble Oil

Sitting back he replies, "Sphere yes I think I do recall that name but it has been some time. I mus admit I am glad you are here. I fear this break in has nothing to do with the animals." Taking a another drink, "It seems we are missing a top secret algae we developed. The algae was designed to clean up oil after a spill. Now it seems we are serious trouble as it along with all the research notes are missing."

Looking at the phone then back up he continues, "I fear I know little of who might have done this. We have no unhappy employees nor any real competition."

Thinking he strokes his chin, "If you be serious in this perhaps if you were able to return that sample and the notes we could give you a $5000.00 reward for each item returned to our company."

"Not to be rude but that was Mr. Watkins from Shill oil our client. You might be wise to speak to him as well. It seems one of his tankers was taken captive this morning. I am sure you must have heard about it in the news." standing he hands you Mr. Watkins business card. "Now I must try and rebuild what we can of the notes before more is forgotten this mess can be cleaned up any time. IS there anything else I can tell you...I know nothing of the thieves and I am very perplexed by this attack."

Oil And Trouble (story Line)

"Sphere Shill Petroleum hired us to create the algea but do keep that under your hat. You know how sticky privacy laws are today. Mr. Watkins is their head of security and is not very happy with me right now."

Seeing you preparing to leave he heads to the back of the lab were a technician is trying vigorously to recoup any notes that might be recovered off the old hard drives.


Sphere arrives ahead of the rest after all nothing better the taking a straight line with no traffic. You arrive to a typical office building about 15 stories high and glass top to bottom. There are several armed men on the top and they seen you as you approach.

They appear to be associated with the twin helicopters on top. Both are 6 man choppers and are not running. Together you guess 8 men are on the roof.

Reporting back to the rest you plan you next step.

It will be close to 3 by the time you can reach the building with the group..

What do you do?

Oil Trouble story Line

As you approach the building a small escort comes out to greet you. The head man asks you to follow as they were expecting you soon.


You ascend to the top floor your escorted to a large office with a firm looking man pouring over what appears to be blue prints of some sort.


Looking up he looks pleased to see you. "Ah just the gents we need. I am Mr. Watkins the head of security for Shill. " Taping the plans on the table he adds, "As I am sure you know one of our tankers has been captured and being held for ransom. We are looking for a party interested in the job of returning it to us. If your interested in the chore we can cover some expenses and provide transportation to the ship."


Handing you some printouts he comments, "This is the layout of the ship use them how you may."

"The algae yes we hired them to create it so we can clean up after any oil spill to prevent damage to the environment. We are not pleased that it has disappeared but that is the labs problem to figure out right now."

He then adds some quick details that he feels you will need.

1-12 men are said to be involved

2-There are explosives on board.

3-The ship in 22 miles out in international waters.

4-It is thought they are amateurs.

5-early morning approach might be best as your back would be to the sun.
