When research participation pays, some people lie. Offering compensation can be an important tactic to attract potential participants for enrollment in research studies, but it might come at a cost. A new study found that up to 23 percent of respondents lied about their eligibility to participate in a survey when offered payment, even small amounts. Source 5w.

Unfortunately that's what some surveys get when some people can just say anything they want and get away with it anyway. Although offering small money is a good idea it also attracts more of the same types of people who will take the survey with a deceptive intention.
