Three paint buckets full of uranium exposed Grand Canyon tourists in Arizona to radiation — for years. Radiation at a museum collections building 80 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona, wasn't discovered until March 2018 by the teenage son of a park employee who happened to be a Geiger counter enthusiast, a Park Service safety official says. The radiation had been present since 2000, said the official, Elston "Swede" Stephenson. Ref. USAToday.
So all this time this radiation has been affecting tourists while being undetected? With a popular place such as the Grand Canyon there's supposed to be proper security AND health measures in place to ensure everything is under control.
