As Thorin courageously moves in for the attack the robed figure fades away until there is no one there, however you can see the faded essence or a ghostly figure pass by you and head into the statue at the center of the village. Sapphire, who is near the statue at the moment can clearly see this and it makes her shiver a bit.

Thorin spins around with a surprised face following the ghost with his eyes. He asks the ladies,

"Did you all see that? The demon disappeared into that statue!"

When they get back to where she is standing Sapphire says, "There is probably some kind of mechanism or hidden entrance to something below this statue but how will we find it? Have any of you the skills to find a trap?"

Your initial assessment of the statue and its immediate surroundings does not turn up anything. Perhaps if you applied some kind of Skill it might generate more conclusive results.
