Why would DNA be an eternal construct? Jesus was conceived while Mary was still a virgin and living on this earth. You may want to expand more at what you mean by "eternal" construct in case I misunderstood. Thanks.

Even though we are literally children of Heavenly Father , what would be the purpose of our Spirits having DNA? Our Spirits are not tangible. I do not see how could it be possible.

I had read this once and it got me thinking

This suggests, figuratively or literally I do not know, that we have received some traits from our Heavenly Parents though "Spiritual DNA".

According to the Prophet Joseph Smith our Spirits are indead Matter, but more refined. This being said, We are indeed spiritually begotten children of Parents in Heaven and I am sure we have recieved traits from both.

As this life and this body is a reflection of the spiritual life, I have often thought that there has to be a way to transmits the traits of a Father to their Children both spiritually and physically. As we are literal physical offspring of our own earthly parents and we recieve traits from them, I have not thought it incongrouis to recieve spiritual traits from our Father in Heaven. I believe it is transmitted through some kind of "DNA", though it may not be the same form as the DNA that is currently found in our earthly bodies.

I believe that celestial beings have DNA. We only use a fraction of our DNA. The rest is called junk. What is this that they call junk? We only use a small percentage of your brain to. I wonder what would happen if we used all of this.

In my opinion...
We have 12 Strands of physical DNA, only 1 is active. The remaining are considered junk because they are not active. Being inactivated, they don't do anything...

We also have 12 corresponding strands on "Spiritual" DNA. 1 of which is active, the remaining 11 are also considered junk until they become active.

It is possible to activate the dormant DNA strands. Without getting into much detail, there is a main DNA contained in the pituitary gland located near the base of your brain. (Point at consciousness, that is where your pituitary gland is located.) This gland contains the DNA which is used to govern, (can't think of a better word), the entire body. It is known as the "master endocrine gland". Inside of this gland is the "Master DNA". Although all our cells contain DNA, this master DNA contains the main blue print actively used to control the body.

Why wouldn't DNA be eternal? God is bound by the laws of science and nature. He just understands them all - that deep understanding we all are seeking. DNA is a type of matter. God did not create the matter, he just organized it.

President Lee had a book in his office on the scientific make up of trees and plants. When asked why he bothered with such a book when he had so many spiritual matters to attend to his response was something to the effect of, "When I create my own worlds I want them to have trees and foliage. I may as well start learning and gaining the knowledge about it now."

As for Spiritual DNA, I don't know. It could be DNA or it could be some other type of genetic marker.

I think dbacker has brought up a good deep thought. It is one of the few topics that caught my eye, out of the topics I have searched so far.

I have also thought of this.

And Amonhi as also brought up a point on how to activate it. I believe this.

I think that personal development is what activates some of this so called "junk".

It is kind of funny that the old symbol for medicine is 2 snakes wrapped around a pole. We still use it today. Looks like a double helix to me.

I agree Alskann!

Sometimes we forget that God is bound by laws... but He has a higher understanding of them. I think that DNA or whatever the spiritual term would be, is something that is in our eternal make ups as well as physical.
