First ever living donor HIV-to-HIV kidney transplant. For the first time, a person living with HIV has donated a kidney to a transplant recipient also living with HIV. A multidisciplinary team completed the living donor HIV-to-HIV kidney transplant on March 25, 2019. The doctors say both the donor and the recipient are doing well. Source 6j.

According to the article there are new drugs that are good for the kidney in order for the HIV transplant to take place, but honestly I do rather believe that the risk still remains and the same method may not work the same for everyone.
