In history, Lithuanian music usually consists of genre such as folk, classical and popular. It held an important role for religious events and even rituals for tribes who used music as a means to mourn the dead.
Of course, this brings birth to the national instruments that are the Birbynė (Aerophone), Dūdmaišis (Bagpipe), Skrabalai (Percussion) and Kanklės (Plucked strings instrument).
