Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said she and her Polish counterpart agreed to place 10 missile defense interceptors in Poland to defend against threats from Iran and North Korea, not to weaken Russia.

I do not understand how a missile defense system in Poland is going to stop any threat from North Korea. I think it is there to stop any threat from Russia no matter what they are saying.

I hope that we (the United States) encourage all of Russia's former Satellites, into acquiring Missile Defence Systems. If Russia is whining because it may not have the power to reoccupy the countries that they once held an iron fist over, then the US is doing the right thing.

I say we promise all of our support with the Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Slovakian, Ukrainian, etc. and any former Soviet controlled nation and do it quickly. Give them the means and the power to defend themselves against any regime Iranian, North Korean or Russian, who wants to flex their military might against Central and Eastern Europe.

I am with you on that dbackers. Some preventative measures now will save big issues in the future. The UN needs to act quickly here not just the States.

Yes the UN or other countries in Europe needs to act on this too. Do not just sit back and wait for the USA to do it all for you. Other countries need to step up to the plate so that some of these countries understand that they will be fighting against more than just the USA.
