Advisor Description
Once Corit first arrived in the town and sought for work as a blacksmith and was directed to a temporary employer, Jack decided then would be the best time to approach her. He went to her in the mid afternoon after he trained with some newly recruited soldiers. It was Corit's first day of work and Jack asked for a new sword to be crafted, as his current blade was dull from its time in battle. Corit never gave their first meeting much though as he was just another customer.
A week later, when Jack came to receive the sword, he revealed that he knew her father. This news caught Corit by surprise. He told her that he had only been appointed Captain for the past few years and that during his time as a soldier, her father was his mentor. Jack told her that he had been keeping tabs on and looking out for her, per request of her father, who knew of Corit's ambitions to do a great many things. Corit's father understood that being a half-elf in a society of humans would have challenges for his daughter. However, being a well seasoned knight needed on the battlefield, he couldn't always be by his soft-natured child's side to give advice or combat ridicule thrown her way. The Captain looked up to Corit's father with respect and promised to honored his request.
The bond and friendship that Jack and Corit will form as they spend time together will be beneficial to both of them. Corit gets a second conscious in important decisions and matters and Jack gets to fulfill the vow he made to her father.
Jack's suspicions of the girl are that she may buckle under the pressure and weight of the path she has chosen for herself, as people are wary of those with elven blood running through their veins. He hopes that she will prove the world wrong, or at least that Corit could makes some kind of name and living for herself.

Reflections On Your Mother
Corit remembers her mother fondly, but with a pain in her heart. Unlike Corit's docile nature, her mother was headstrong and stubborn. Her death hit Corit hard, but she knew that her mother would not be looking down on her with a smile from up above if she did not soldier on. It was this thought that drove Corit to hold her head up high and strive for a future for herself. Her mother raised her almost on her own, with Corit's father only being around a few moths at a time between battle campaigns. However, she had raised her daughter well.
It was from her mother that she learned how to strike and form metals, irons, and other material into weapons. It was also her mother that influenced Corit's great faith in her deity and want to learn the ways of devine magic. Corit holds the memory of her mother close and views both her elven and human heritage as something that makes her unique. She never hides that she is half-elf, despite what others may think of her mother's culture and race.
