Veterans Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (Hover)
If you remember, Saving Private Ryan was so graphic that some had PTSD as well. The same goes for band of brothers the show. PTSD is so tragic in my opinion. I have a friend of my fathers who fought in vietnam and has to take medicine to keep him calmed down because any aggression triggers a frighteningly fearful reaction. This big man will hit a flight or fight reaction mid conversation if he does not take his medicine, its a constant reminder to me what war can do to a man.
There was a news story today about a solider who returned home from Iraq, found his teenage wife had cheated on him, and he ended up stabbing her over 70 times. One has to wonder whether some or all of this behavior can be attributed to Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. I am sure testing will be done on this individual to determine if that in fact was at play during such a gruesome crime.

Why the Pentagon has turned on the makers of 'Baghdad ER'
When Emmy-winning filmmakers approached the US high command to make a documentary about a war zone emergency room, the generals applauded. Now they fear it will undermine public support for the war. By Rupert Cornwell

PTSD is no joke. The first 6 months of returning from Iraq , I constantly had flashbacks. To see a object in the road such as a dead animal or trash. Was enough to speed my heart up and have sweaty palms behind the steering wheel. I kept thinking it was a IED (Inprovised Explosive Device) in the street. And I would swerve to the other side of the road and speed up to get away from the object , fearing that it would explode as I approached it.

The widely cited estimate that one in three Vietnam veterans suffered post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of their service may be too high, researchers are reporting.
