That's really unfortunate that they will have to end up in prison for crimes their own parent caused on them. They should have tried to get help first or perhaps they did and never got it.

Why couldn't they have told someone that they needed help? A lot of times they do but no one listens then the abuse gets to you, alters your mind and you end up committing a crime against the state when all you are trying to do is to save yourself.
