Good morning/afternoon/evening,
I've just found this place - was interested in the Text Role-playing Game and was directed here, and was told to put in a bit of an introduction to start things off. So, here goes nothing .. *wink*
"Madkynge", as some may know, is short for the moniker I've been using for the past few years in the Role-playing Game community - "Mad Kynge Henry". I've been involved in Role-playing Game's since the 70's - no, not the 1670s, I'm not that long in the tooth - as yet. I started out with a little game called 'The Fantasy Trip', a game that was recently brought back to life through a [..] by Steve Jackson Games. (I couldn't get in on it, but I have most of the 'old' books, for what it is worth) Since then, I've been both a player and a Game Master for a plethora of games, from 2nd Edition AD&D all the way up to 5th Edition Shadowrun and Starfinder.
There are a handful of favourite games I've kept playing over the years, 7th Sea, GURPS (Mostly 3rd Edition stuff), Twilight: 2000, WEG's "Star Wars" (I prefer it over the current crop of "Force and Destiny" - there's something to be said about rolling a half-metric tonne of D6's, those of you out there know what I'm talking about)
Due to scheduling troubles, playing a sit-down game is a bit problematic, so playing in a text-based Role-playing Game setting has led me here. I'm also active on another text-based site; [..], where I've been Game Mastering a 7th Sea (1e) game for a couple of years, and playing in a WEG Star Wars setting for about half as long. It 'scratches the itch' so to speak, but it never hurts to expand your horizons.
Admittedly, I'm more into heavy RP than combat when it comes.
