Pro-Abortion Blog Attacks Sarah Palin's Son: "Retarded," "Somewhat Alive"
The pro-abortion blog "Wonkette" is facing criticism from pro-life advocates for running a satirical post attacking Trig Palin, the Down Syndrome son of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
The attack on the son of the pro-life former Alaska governor comes at a time when pro-life advocates are concerned about statistics showing approximately 90 percent of unborn children who are diagnosed with Down Syndrome become victims of abortion.
The Wonkette post makes fun of Palin for posting a birthday message to Trig online. The Wonkette post says:
"What's he dreaming about? Nothing. He's retarded. His mom went to a lot of trouble to leak amniotic fluid over 8 states to make sure that he arrived in this world somewhat alive. Enjoy yourself today, Trig. Have fun! Get drunk (on purpose this time)! We can hardly wait for 15 years from now, when you will finally be able to vote and will be sent off by your mother's junta to fight the Union in the Great Alaska War. It"ll be quite a loss. You"re the smartest one in that family."
The Wonkette story prompted a massive conservative backlash on Twitter and calls for major advertisers to pull their advertising. Ref. Source 3
I understand if US citizens want to take shots at palin herself and her politics, but her son and calling him names like retarded? That is low! From above this what later happened:

Activist sues Sarah Palin for $100K over traffic
JUNEAU, Alaska - An activist is suing Sarah Palin for at least $100,000, claiming she undertook a campaign to "punish, embarrass, discredit and silence" him while she was Alaska's governor. Ref. Source 7
Palin 2012 just got more likely
Most have written off Sarah Palin as a possible 2012 contender after the relentless spanking she's received from the lib media. Just when they thought she was down and out - Sarah Barracuda once again catches them off guard. First it was revealed Palin was able to produce an entire movie about her record without anyone catching wind of it. Then she launches a massive bus tour that screams 2012 Presidential run. Will she run? Should she run? Ref. Source 1
Media search of Palin emails backfires
So giddy were the MSM over the prospect of combing through Sarah Palin's 'treasure trove' of emails from when she was governor, some outlets enlisted the help of 100 'researchers' to find items that will 'hopefully lead to further investigation.' They were certain scandal after scandal awaited, but what they found was the exact opposite. Not only were there no scandals, the emails actually show Palin is funny, honest, consistent, compassionate, likable -- it all amounts to another humiliating defeat in the relentless quest to destroy Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin Refutes Story Claiming 2012 Decision Next Week
Former vice-presidential candidate, according to one conservative publication, is expected to make a decision about a presidential campaign next week. Within an hour of the story going up online, Palin refuted it.
"Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is expected within a week to make a decision on whether to enter the 2012 presidential campaign, according to one Republican source," American Spectator reporter Robert McCain said in a story. "Vendors of campaign services who hope to work for Team Palin have been told that Palin, the 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate, will decide soon one way or another on mounting a 2012 campaign."
No so fast, according to the former Alaska governor.
"Really? Hmm, guess they forgot to inform me what I"m "expected to do" next week," Palin said in a Twitter message about half an hour later.
A recent Wall St. Journal poll has Palin in second place behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with Romney leading with 30 percent of the vote to 14 for Palin, if she decides to run. The WSJ poll also showed that just 45 percent of Republicans are happy with the GOP field - compared with 73 percent who said the same thing in 2008, which could give Palin an incentive to run.
Most recently, Palin's emails as governor were made public and they showed her writing a letter from God's perspective about the eventual birth of her son Trig, who has Down syndrome. Ref. Source 3

Comments: I hope Sarah Palin does run in the GOP election. When I vote for someone I picture myself sitting and having a beer with them... If I could then they get my vote. I could sit and have a beer with Bush that is why he got my vote, can do the same with Palin too.
