Dreaming With Someone I Never Met

Please share your thoughts about the following dream of mine (last night):

I had a strange dream last night. I dreamed with a woman who posts in a site I usually visit. I don't know how she looks like neither where she is from but she is a regular there and we chatted in the past about Madeleine McCann's case, NO personal stuff.

I dreamed my sister and I were in her house for some reason. She was there, a woman with glasses and a big cup of coffee on her hands. There was a friend of hers there asking us for a ride and I told her I couldn't because we did not have a car and we were waiting for a ride ourselves. We left in a car in the middle of a huge rain, storm and flood. There was rain and water everywhere and I was very scared if we would make it.

I contacted her and she was very surprised to hear the dream. She said she wears glasses and she drinks a big cup of coffee every morning. She also said that 3 years ago last Friday she woke up in the hospital after breast cancer surgery and watched Hurricane Katrina come on shore and yesterday there was rain, rain, rain and heavy, with thunderstorms and her family and her were hydroplaning in their car as they drove back from a day in the mountains.

Met Never Someone Dreaming

QUOTE
To see a storm in your dream, signifies overwhelming struggle, shock, devastating loss and catastrophe in your personal affairs. The storm also represents unexpressed fears or emotions, such as anger, rage, turmoil, etc. On a more positive note, the storm signifies the rising of spirit within.

To dream that you are riding an animal or vehicle, symbolizes the path and direction of your life.  Alternatively, it may indicate that you are going along with another's plans and ideas.

To dream that you are driving a car, denotes your ambition, your drive and your ability to navigate from one stage of your life to another. Consider how smooth or rough  the car ride is.  Whether you are driving the car or a passenger, is indicative of of your active role or passive role in your life.  If you are in the backseat of the car, then it indicates that you are putting yourself down and are allowing others to take over.  This may be a result of low self-esteem or low self-confidence.  Overall, this dream symbol is an indication of your dependence and degree of control you have on your life.

To dream that your are hailing a cab, suggests that you need to ask for help in order to be able to move forward in some waking situation.

To see your sister in your dream, symbolizes some aspect of your relationship with her, whether it one of sibling rivalry, caring, protectiveness, etc. Your sister may draw attention to your family role and sense of belonging. It may also serve to remind you that someone in your waking life has characteristics similar to your sister. Alternatively, your sister may be a metaphor and actually refer to a nun. In this case, she may represent spiritual issues.

The above is from an online dream dictionary (https://www.dreammoods.com/). Read through it and see if any of it stands out for you. Are you feeling out of control in some area of your life? The woman with the coffee could be significant or not. Have you only had the dream once? Some dreams are trying to tell us something others are just dreams. I tend to put more meaning into recurring dreams.

alskann, thank you! Yes, there are things in my life right now that I have no control over (I am sure you have read my many rants about the country I live in and our challenges). Yes, I only had this dream once.

I would suggest trying to determine which things you can have some control over and work on that. Things you have no control over, while they are infuriating, you cannot do much about them. Work on letting them go, at least for now. I always tell my clients, act on what you can do now. What you can't do, let it go. It also helps to take the seemingly insurmountable problems and break them down into smaller, do-able steps.

If you have the same dream again or some form of the same dream take a closer look. Pay attention to what is the same in the dreams and what is different.
