I'm not sure about the statistics but based on my two decades of being here, we have a lot of smokers. Pre Duterte age (Before President Duterte got elected) smoking was allowed almost everywhere, or smoking areas were always available and accessible. But after Duterte got elected, his presidential decree banned smoking in all government and public places. You can't even find a smoking area within the airport. And in most hotels, you have to walk far just to get to a decent smoking area.
