Guy Gives Robber $40 and Bread

I was watching on FNC: A store owner is being robbed by a man brandishing a weapon. The store owner pulls out a gun and then the robber goes to his knees and begs for forgiveness saying that he just did it to feed his family. The store owner gives the man $40 and a loaf of bread as he said he felt sorry for him. What do you think? Staged?

It all sounds staged to me. What type of weapon did the robber have? IF he had a gun it would be foolish for the owner to pull out a gun unless he could see that they guy did not really want to use it.

If that is correct then it may not be staged at all. I can see some guy being desperate over feeding his family and this guy helped him. Hard to say.
