First time in the Town

It was a new experience, coming here to this Town. I have learned that there is much to this Town, but when I first arrived I knew almost none of these things. I'm grateful to Henry - they have assisted me well over the past year or so. Thanks to him, I'm no longer only good for gathering herbs, as was my job for a good while when I first arrived. I can tend the wounded, defend myself, worship properly. It's slow going, but people aren't made their ideal selves in a day. Life is better than when I first arrived.
My dreams first began when I came to this place. The ones that encourage me to write. I have to wonder if there is something special about this town. Perhaps I was destined to be here? That seems too simple an answer, but sometimes the simple answers are the correct ones.

In the candlelight of early night, Leon reads. Learning through study has become more interesting to him as of late, and this has extended into his worship. Leon was taught at a young age to read a verse from the Testaments of Aman each night before bed, and he has made an effort to do so before. Recently, he reads a chapter or more, contemplating their meaning before reciting the Prayer of Guidance and at last resting his head.

Message to Advisor

My Friend Henry,
I have been studying quite thoroughly the history and geography of our local area, among other things. If I am to affect the future, I must understand and learn from the past, yes? It is a wisdom I was taught as a child. Do not fret, however - my physical training is still ongoing.
I'd like to fund a trip to Llafair soon. It is there I could learn to Toughen up, as you suggest, after all. The only realistic way to fund such a trip and training any time soon that I know of, however, is to undertake a quest. Do you have any suggestions, my friend?

Meeting the townsfolk

The townsfolk here are interesting people. If I could choose a word for the lives of these people, it would be active. The Town is a lively place.
Assisting the physician and learning how to treat the wounds of others with Henry has given me ample opportunities to serve my fellow man. Reception to our deeds is… perhaps best described as "mostly positive."
Helping those in need is obviously generally well received, especially by those who need the assistance. However, I have come to notice a percentage of the population experiencing varying levels of unrest. I get the sense some believe we are ignoring the systemic issues causing their problems. A few with darker hearts may even believe our deeds are meant to appease the populace, so they do not rise up. I can't imagine not understanding the simple desire to be good to your fellow man, but those types of people are out there.
It is good that I am following Henry's advice. If my mother truly did depend on him to guide me towards the path of a ruler, then even falling short of that would put me in a position of power. Perhaps enough power to truly make things better for all here.

I have recently been putting my knowledge of herbs to good use. I acquired an incense kit at the temple and have been using it to make offerings. The ritual of lighting the incense helps put my mind in a state suitable for prayers as well; it has become a blessed practice for which I am grateful to have been gifted the learning to practice properly and regularly.

Finding a job

Work is readily available in times like these, though I imagine it could be difficult to find gainful employment without specializing in something. I benefit from the physician always needing more herbs; I suppose those less fortunate must be grateful for Lady Fluke.
Whether such work could be called "gainful" is difficult. I suppose if I kept at it for years, I might see my savings slowly improve. But I do not wish to wait years - already nearly two have gone by of keeping my head low and bettering myself.
I have heard rumor of a patrol job in Llafair. I shall have to ask Henry about this; it could be good experience, but Llafair is not far from the Dark Region. I'm eager to grow in strength, not throw my life away.

My Friend Henry,
I must thank you greatly for your generosity. I have visited both Llafair and Anglesey now, and learned much. I must speak with you next we meet about the possibility of doing patrols in the Llafair area. I know it is dangerous, but while my progression has born some fruit, it is too slow. I must be willing to risk more.
I am still not certain on a guild as of yet, but I have spoken with their representatives and been able to narrow my options. I will try to make a decision soon, my friend; I know that I will have to get training for my chosen path soon if I wish to be accepted.
I must treat you to a feast when next we meet, Henry. It is a small kindness in comparison, but tis the least I could do for now.

I sensed a presence assisting me during my recent battle. I know not if it was you, or a helpful presence you guided to me, but I know I am grateful.
