I am Marty the Mighty. I always have been taller and stronger than the other children. My father was a goliath and my mother said his size was both a blessing and a curse. See he was 6"8 and there has been much debate about whether I will be as tall as him but I am certainly bigger than everyone my age. The curse my mother told me was he was always sent to fight in the biggest battles and kill the biggest beasts. The curse of course was he had to fight battles all the time. So, story has it he was killed in one of the biggest battles and I have never seen him.
As for me if you expect someone to carry two buckets of water up I will carry four. When others bailed hey for four hours I bailed for six. In recent times my immigrant mother and I made a living gathering water, firewood and other goods for those in town. She said we were business people but I felt like a servant and I don't know how I feel about that. On the one hand I like my place in society and have been treated fairly for my position but on the other hand my position is not ambitious and my life is highly dependent on others. Oh dang this was a lesson from the priest he said something about this.
My mother always told me to aspire the top of society but she sadly left out the part about how to get there. She told me that the best of men aspire to care for their families first, their selves second and their community third. I think that's the order. In any case with no family left I have to take care of myself and the man I know who takes care of himself best is Leopold the travelling merchant he wears the nicest clothes and always eats in the inn. Plus he has the prettiest girlfriend in town Gisela and rumor has it he has a wife so he must be following rule one take care of your family twice as much as other men.
Advisor Description
Leopold was a busy and wealth merchant who often employed my mother and I with jobs like gathering water and hey for his horses. Always respected for his ostentatious wealth and his way with women. He always seemed to be riding in his caravan filled to the brim with goods whether it was Brandy or Barley. He always would famously quote to me "Buy for one sell for two!". Leopold saw Marty as someone who would do the work of two men but get paid only once. Leopold did seem acutely aware that while only young Marty may be someone he would want in his employ when he got much older. Knowing he was without a father he was the one who taught him how to shave sadly he only rented him the razor.
Reflections On Your Mother
My mother I remember her thick heavy set legs always crouched down re-shoeing horses doing work that was considered manly. Brushing cleaning, fine people's horses. Why did she accept a woman's pay but do a man's job?
She was always tired. Maybe too tired to argue or to fight the injustices of this life.
Most beautiful lady of Marty
Once there was another Easterner. A family of refugees. There were 6 of them a mother a father and most notably 3 daughters. While they were all pretty in their own right the second oldest daughter was my favorite. She was tall and slender. Her hair long and dark her smile was bright and pearly white and it contrasted sharply against her skin tone. She was about my age. She parted her hair down the middle and she kindly asked me to watch her younger brother as he went down by the river. I was nervous and young so I merely talked to their youngest sibling. He was interested in catching frogs down by the river. Oh how I squandered this opportunity would I ever get another chance at love. Leopold told me there would be many opportunities but I didn't believe him I thought this one woman would be the only one. He laughed and I blushed. Oh how I wished to see her in that long dress that exposed her shoulders.
