I suppose there are many other people with things to gain involved on this? I don't know. I don't agree with legalizing pot either because after that they will want to legalize the rest.

Your slippery slope argument would be more compelling in a nation where alcohol and tobacco weren't already legal.
Also, the best way to win the war on drugs is to legalize and regulate them. Tax money can be spent on community improvement, instead of paying private corporations to imprison US citizens.

Where do you stop? Should heroine and crack also be legal. Children do their best to get alcohol and we've seen the number of crazy things they do under the influence. Allowing easy access means a binge because their immature minds tell them they can do anything.
