SMF Updates - Updating SMF Troubles
I am opening this Thread for SMF related Updates to current versions rather than making a specific Thread about each Update.
Latest SMF updates: SMF 2.0.3, 1.1.17 and 1.0.23 security patches
According to an SMF developer:
Simple Machines Forum has released security patches to both the 1.1.x and the 2.0.x release lines. This brings our released versions to SMF 1.1.19 and SMF 2.0.6.
Several security issues were identified in both release lines and have been addressed with this patch. It is, therefore, recommended that you update your forums immediately to ensure that your community is safe. In addition to the security patches, a few bug fixes for the SMF 2.0 line have also been included in the 2.0.6 patch.
If you are running version 2.0.5, you can update your forum to version 2.0.6 using the package manager. As usual, you should see the upgrade notification in the Admin panel and in the package manager, which will allow you to download and install the patch seamlessly. If you don't see the notification about the update, please run the scheduled task "Fetch Simple Machines files". You can also download the patch for 2.0.6 from the customize site at: Source 7 by downloading the: smf_patch_1.1.19_2.0.6.tar.gz patch file, and then installing it from the package manager, like any other mod package.
Simple Machines Forum has released an new patch to the 2.0.x release line. This brings our released version to SMF 2.0.7.
Unlike previous patches, this is a bug fix release, not a security release. This does not detract from the importance of installing this release. Although a number of other defects have been remedied, the primary update of this patch brings full compatibility for PHP 5.5, which is becoming a more common problem, as hosts are now beginning more widespread adoption. Comments: I could not see the 2.0.7 patch from admin so I decided to check the SMF news forum and they said that SMF 2.0.7 has been suspended because the patch to correct bugs resulted in bugs, too funny. Anyways, we have to wait.
SMF has just released yet another update. If you know how you should Update your forum, but make sure to backup first.
