For a start, Ruler of Kings II Text Role-playing Game is a MMORPG. However to differentiate… Ruler of Kings II Text Role-playing Game Solo Play by Post is a Text based MMORPG and not a video game. MMORPG stands for Massive Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Game. Some other short terms may be simply MMO or MMPORPG. A lot of Mafia styled MMORPGs are common but there are other themes as well such as medieval, WWII and so forth.
When we had Ruler of Kings I (Version one) MMORPG online, it was largely based on raising armies, buying resources and battling though a simple interface. The main basis of a game like this was simply to be the 'top of the pack' by reliance on a leader board (First place, second place, etc.) that highlights the best players.
When we brought on Ruler of Kings II (ROK II) we did keep the element of raising armies and a partial leader board but we wanted the emphasis to be on each Player and their story that led up to raising armies. In other words, we wanted the real element of role-playing as opposed to just constantly clicking buttons and punching numbers. In ROK II you don't start with an army or enough resources to build an Army, instead you start with a story about your Character who tries to discover their purpose and resolve. As your Character becomes stronger you then stand worthy to lead and have the respect of mercenaries / soldiers.
Therefore, ROK II allows you to both play solo, like if you are in a tabletop Role-playing Game, and as a commander of Armies as most text based MMORPGs. Just keep in mind that the Armies simulation comes later in your play when you have proven that your Character is worth of leading an Army.
