Trump is removing Geoffrey Berman as Manhattan's chief federal prosecutor, Attorney General William Barr says. Attorney General William Barr on Saturday informed Manhattan's chief federal prosecutor, Geoffrey Berman, that President Trump was removing him from office after the prosecutor refused to resign. The action comes after an extraordinary confrontation late Friday in which Barr first announced that Berman would be "Stepping down," only to have the prosecutor fire back that he had no intention of resigning his post.
