Painful: Rep. Lewis says 'Pursuit of Happiness' makes Obamacare constitutional
Congressman John Lewis attempted to explain what in the Constitution exactly made Obamacare legal - his answer was interesting, to say the least. He claimed 'the pursuit of happiness' and 'the 14th amendment' along with a few mumbles. There's a reason it's fairly difficult to explain that answer - because there is no good answer. Ref. Source 1
Rep. John Lewis, the civil rights icon who fought for racial justice first with Martin Luther King Jr. And later in the halls of Congress, has died at 80. The son of Alabama sharecroppers, Lewis gained national prominence in the 1960s as one of the original Freedom Riders challenging Jim Crow laws. In Congress, he fought for voters’ rights, and in 2011 President Barack Obama awarded him the Medal of Freedom. Ref. USAToday.
