We have a case here in the Philippines, remotest barrio. A man, 64 years old, with no travel history or exposure to Covid 19 tested positive twice on swab test. All his house hold contacts tested negative.

Philippines Coronavirus - COVID-19 Health & Special Psychology

We have implemented Community Quarantine through out the islands. Strict implementation of face mask use and social distancing. The problem is, after easing the restrictions, cases increased. As of the moment, there is no news from the government if strict quarantine would be reinforced.
Prior to easing of quarantine, cases of COVID were concentrated in the nation's capital region. But when people were allowed to travel back to their home province, cases started to spread. Local testing and quarantine protocols are now in place for people travelling back to their hometown.

I would like to share my experience with COVID 19. I am a hospital worker (Physician) in the province. Since the downgrading of the community quarantine, people from the the capital which is the epicenter of the pandemic in our country were allowed to come back to their hometown. The municipal government (Town) coordinates with our hospital with regards to testing of this returning individual. One sunday, before I got off from duty, the town ambulance arrived bearing a patient who came from Manila. Said patient needed dialysis, which was not available in our hospital. I had to refer said patient to the next town (Around 50 mins away). But before doing so, I had to examine the patient, order a rapid covid antibody test, then call the receiving hospital. The rapid test results were negative, As per protocol, despite the negative results, I donned completer PPE.
Two days later, we received a report that the sid patient was positive for COVID! 9 RT-PCR swab test. I underwent a swab test the day after and placed myself in quarantine while awaiting my results. The waiting was pure agony while I stayed inside a room, away from my love ones. What I was more scared of is I might have infected my family.
Luckily, the results came out after 3 days and I was negative. Upon hearing the news, my kids literaaly smothered me with their embrace.

Since the easing of the lock down, the number of cases has risen even overtaking that of China where the virus first appeared. With the country's economy being hit hard because of the lock down, the government has little choice but to ease the lock down.

Philippines Coronavirus - COVID-19

Doctors in the National Capital Region have begged the government to reinstitute modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in their region. This is in response to the alarming rise of COVID positive patients and hospitals closing down because of Health workers getting infected. Add to this the full capacity of hospital beds dedicated for COVID patients. The president has relented placing the region including the neihboring provinces under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ). MECQ is the highest community quarantine restriction in the country where only essential services are allowed to operate.
