Recently, there have been many attacks against Chinese nationals living in Trinidad who have businesses many of these crimes end in murder or assault. So far those who have supermarkets and restaurants seem to be 'easy' targets for the criminal elements. Although attacks against Chinese nationals in Trinidad happened in the past the frequency has not been the same. Not too long ago the Chinese ambassador in Trinidad 'demanded' of the government to protect the nationals of China who are being attacked in daylight.

The Chinese Embassy already got involved in one of the cases and captured the criminals involved. Hope these thieves understand that you cannot mess up with the Chinese and Syrians, they're not joking with you.

The police in the cities, rural districts, constantly visible, not being in the stations waiting for something to happen. This may be only the beginning for a decline and an increase in public confidence in our security forces.

I was watching TV6's beyond the tape of another Chinese business coming under attack by lowlife criminals. This isn't good if the Chinese want to invest in T&T and yet Chinese citizens are constantly being targeted.

Comments: In my opinion if we did not have the natural resources of gas and oil no one would want to have anything with this corrupt nation .Almost all of those involved in these two commodities here are corrupt. Our politicians can't wait to get their hands on the income from these resources deposited in the Treasury. They use the introduction of big projects such as road building to extract the dollars by way of 'kick backs'.

According to police, around 4 am, six men and two women armed with knives and cutlasses entered the supermarket. They went to the upper floor of the building where the owner and eight employees, all Chinese nationals, were asleep.The suspects attempted to rob the occupants but the victims fought back.
