Is Weightlifting in Philippines popular? What Philippines Powerlifting gyms are available that Weightlifters / Powerlifters can use to practice Weightlifting? Is the sport developed or unknown? Even if it is not done locally, who are the most well known Philippines Weightlifters / Powerlifters?

Weightlifting became known when Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz won her first bronze in the 2007 South East Asian Games. After that she also built several wight lifting gyms to promote the sports. Weightlifting is not that popular here in the Philippines since the number one sports here is still Basketball.
