Edward Markey

Edward Markey defeats Rep. Joe Kennedy III in Massachusetts’ Democratic Senate primary. Markey, 74, the incumbent, defeated Kennedy in the Democratic Senate primary on Tuesday after painting himself as the anti-establishment candidate against a member of one of the most storied political families in United States history. Kennedy became the first member of his family to lose a congressional election in the state of Massachusetts. Ref. USAToday.
